What More Can I Do?

D Ddim1 D5 D10
My baby called me on the telephone

Bdim Dm7-5 Ddim2 D D10
Said honey I’m here all        on my own

I’ve been fixing up your favourite pie
So honey won’t you step on by

Bm E
We can cuddle up and watch TV

Em7-5 A
Then you can make love to me

So I wrote her a letter in the post
Said, baby I love you the most
You’e never far away from my mind
A girl like you is hard to find
I wrote this song for you, tell me what more can I do?

Gm7 C D Gm7 C D
What more can I do, I can’t stop loving you

Gm7 C D Gm7 C A7
One thing I know is true, when you’re around I’m never blue

So I called on her just to say Hi
She said, Golly if it ain’t my guy
I was hoping that you’d come on by
Grab a beer and have a piece of pie
We can cuddle up and watch TV, then you can make love to me

Make love to me, oh what fun that would be
A midnight fantasy, just you and me

I called up my baby on the phone
You're never gonna be alone

This is a purely fun romantic song with a soupcon of tongue in cheek. The melody for this song was written in April 2018 while I was recovering from my mountain bike accident, but the lyrics only followed in August. As you can see from the lyrics, the melody is made up of a sequence of diminished and flat fifth chords.

I recorded it in August 2018.
